Best Week of The Year 2012

I know, the year isn't over yet. But this week (well, not THIS week, but the one I'm blogging about) was too good to not be on the fav list. Blogging got but on the back burner, but it's time to fill you in our our visit from Grammy and Grand Papa.

Silas showing off his beautiful Kahle legs
Sampling fresh chocolate milk - no complaints here!

Bobby and Patricia braved the fair with us. The great Western Washington Fair, in Puyallup. (Jude loves to say that word, and I laugh hearing him say it!) It was hot. Hot for us, and dry for The Bobby Kahles, I'm sure. I think it was nice it wasn't raining though...

We celebrated Silas' birthday - they can testify that he did NOT like cake! After waiting a year for sugar, he still doesn't do much of it...I think it's too much for him.

You can't tell by these pictures, but he was not having it. Silas did not like it on his fingers either. Jude kindly let him try chocolate, maybe that was the issue...

Nope. Doesn't want chocolate either....

With that, he took his hat off and he was done. (and I ate his cupcake for him. And Grey was probably sneaking them non-stop! She ate...ahem... a few.)

Silas was happy with oranges. And I was happy he was happy with oranges. Although....I did try hard to make the perfect, first cupcake. Oh well.

We went to Seattle, a brewery, a kid's museum, saw the Puget Sound, saw some fun parks, shared Silas' first birthday, went to the fair, drank new beers, ate breakfast together, had some singing and dancing in the living room, saw the space needle, sat in traffic, saw Jude play guitar at church, went to Pikes Place, saw flying fish, sampled fresh fruit, bought fresh doughnuts, ate cheese curds and the-best-ever cheese sandwiches, had a few home cooked meals together, and shared lots of hugs. It was such a great week!

We loved the adventures and the down time together. Even the simple things like having breakfast together was such a treat!

Pikes Place.

A stranger took this. Their idea is always different then mine. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose.  We are missing the grand "Pike Place" sign, but at least we look good.

Upon arrival I think immediately we went underground.
We took them down a questionable looking alleyway
to the great...

..............gum wall!!

Grammy makes sure her grandbabies are okay.

I know. We live in a weird, dirty city.

Bobby, explaining his shirt for the 5th time.

Beecher's Cheese Shop.

These two became instant buds. And they look a LOT alike. :)

It's a pretty chaotic place. I did not get the best pictures, but I kinda like the craziness coming through the photos.  :) Thanks for the smiles Jude!

 We had a blast!

I often watch Jude with the kids and think, "If his family could see him, they would be so proud." Jude is a great father and person...as you know. But when his parents came to visit, I think I was equally proud of what a great grandparents they are. We are blessed. Blessed not just with family, but with AMAZING, loving, and fun people in our life!

Thank you Grammy and Grand Papa for crossing the country to see us.  We love you with all our hearts and we think of you everyday. Every single day. Come back anytime!!

XO
